My Body for life experience

End of body for life challenge A 12 week fitness program with the best results I’ve had in any contest. Felt and looked my best when 12 weeks were up. This program reduced my drinking and my desire to drink as fitness had become more important and more rewarding. I actually had to join another gym (La Fitness) because the treadmills at Bally's didn't go fast enough. At the end of the program I was running at 11.6 MPH for one minute peak. If you have ever run on a treadmill you'll know that's pretty fast especially for a 47 year old guys who is not a pro runner. The contest is intense and just finishing it as an accomplishment and a huge ego boost. A quick note on the diet side here, I don't believe in supplements but I did use some of the EAS products to meet the meal requirements on this contest. I stuck mostly to the bars but my trainer is pretty high on the Acai products out there now ... could be because of her being Brazilian. I like to stay with whole natural foods at all times.

Inspirational book

The Body for life challenge starts off with you reading a book which details out how the system works. The book is jam packed with stories of past contestants and pictures of their results. Some of the most inspiration comments and stories I have ever read, incredible motivational tool. You will also find the diet plan and the workout you need to follow. The Body for life program is based on being healthy and fit but also having a life.

Great diet plan

Talk to any good trainer and they will tell you diet is 75% of the key to success. The Body for life diet plan is practical and so easy to follow. A completely common sense approach that lays out a 6 meal a day plan that you don’t have to use a calculator and scale to stick too. The Body for life diet even makes easy to order in restaurants and the cheat day is a fantastic tool in helping you change your habits. The lack of alcohol allowed actually helped me break a terrible habit that had no good effects on my life.

Growth in strength

The Body for life system will build your body. If you follow their workouts you will add muscle and change the your shape to a leaner sexier frame. Growth is required in every week but you cannot add time to your workouts. You have to grow in the same amount of time each week (so you can have a life) which means an aggressive approach to gaining strength. The system is so amazing and so effective I still live by it today. I now bench a respectable 355 lbs and can leg press a maximum of 900 lbs all due to this system and my desire to succeed.

Growth in Cardio

The Body for life program demands growth in cardio as well as in body strength in the same short period of time. This meant that if I was running for cardio I had to run faster each week. I ran into a few problems with equipment here. I ran in ASICS Kahana and got bad calluses on my left foot. Now I run in ASICS Gel-Kayano and the problem is gone. At the end of the challenge I was able to run at 11.6 mph for the last minute so fast I wanted to go to Pamplona and run with the bulls. My wife saw the adventure as a little over the top so needless to say I still haven’t done it.

Growth in overall fitness

At the end of the challenge my body fat was at it’s lowest levels ever. I could run faster than when I was a teen. My bench press had increased to well over 200 lbs and my leg press was nearing the 800 lb mark. The Body for life challenge had attacked and improved every area of my body and I was completely happy with the results.
